Tempest Summer Relay

Actually, I should have post this a long time ago, but due to my hectic schedule..:D, I wasn't able to. Anyway, I'd like to invite you to the Tempest Summer Relay which was hosted by Julie Cross, the author herself. I really wish I could join, but this isn't open to INTERNATIONAL readers.

First, here's a little blurb about the book:

TEMPEST
The year is 2009.  Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal guy… he’s in college, has a girlfriend… and he can travel back through time. But it’s not like the movies – nothing changes in the present after his jumps, there’s no space-time continuum issues or broken flux capacitors – it’s just harmless fun.

That is… until the day strangers burst in on Jackson and his girlfriend, Holly, and during a struggle with Jackson, Holly is fatally shot. In his panic, Jackson jumps back two years to 2007, but this is not like his previous time jumps. Now he’s stuck in 2007 and can’t get back to the future.

Desperate to somehow return to 2009 to save Holly but unable to return to his rightful year, Jackson settles into 2007 and learns what he can about his abilities.

But it’s not long before the people who shot Holly in 2009 come looking for Jackson in the past, and these “Enemies of Time” will stop at nothing to recruit this powerful young time-traveler.  Recruit… or kill him.

Piecing together the clues about his father, the Enemies of Time, and himself, Jackson must decide how far he’s willing to go to save Holly… and possibly the entire world.

If you haven't read about this book, check out my review here.

When is it?

June 4, 2012 through August 5, 2012
**Recruits for Team Leaders starts April 23, 2012

Who can participate?

US residents between the ages of 13-25 years old who have not participated in a relay thus far.

**note-Summer relay has a very limited number of participants, so please don't get discouraged if you don't get in this time. If all goes well, there will be more relays.

What exactly is a Tempest relay?

Tempest relay is a fun way to get one book to reach as many of your peers in your local area as possible. It's also super cool because the standings are posted each week and top contenders are featured.

After I receive your email and determine that you are qualified and I have space available, then I will mail you a copy of Tempest, a couple log sheets, and the more specific relay directions.
*Note--You won't actually be keeping this copy of the book.

Okay...So what do I actually get for doing this relay thing?

Healthy competition? The joy of talking books with your peers? An excuse to talk to that boy/girl you like that you haven't been able to manage a coherent sentence around since discovering said like status. Just say Julie Cross forced you to speak to this crush and told them to join your team.

AND you will also get....a personalized signed copy of Tempest which I will mail as soon as I receive your relay copy. Since this isn't an actual contest, I can't claim there will be prizes, however, there most likely will be little treats for my top standing team leaders. Though I won't give specifics on this page.

So, now that you've read the basic instructions, it's time to decide if you qualify to participate before emailing me and causing me to count you in the limited number of spots only to have us both realize you aren't going to be able to do this. I've created a check list to help you make this decision.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email : Julie (JulieCross1 @ live dot com) or Ashelynn! (ashelynnhetland @ gmail dot com)

Remember, Julie has only have a very limited number of spots available!
